Once the Menu opens in PS, you can tweak the menu for as long as you would like, but until you hit Save in Photoshop, the copy in Encore is unaffected. With the layer’s palette in Photoshop, you can apply Photoshop styles to the picture.
Encore 1.5 features a really helpful Styles Palette. These styles are simply Photoshop style. You can make your own styles in PS and import them into Encore. Now that will save a lot of time. Just drag and drop the styles onto the menu element in the Menu Editor. If you use a particular style frequently it’s a lot faster than applying styles in Photoshop repeatedly!
When you stop and consider how many great graphics and pictures are refined through Photoshop, not using Photoshop for your menus is insane! If you have Photoshop skills, then let them shine. And even if you aren’t too proficient in PS, start getting to know it and PLAY with the software. You’d be surprised how much you can learn about Photoshop just messing around. It’s very intuitive and you can get so much more from Photoshop using only a fraction of its total power. Have fun!
